NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence and Tallinn University of Technology have the pleasure of inviting you to a public lecture on the Tallinn Manual by Professor Michael N Schmitt. The lecture will take place on 6 May at 17:30 in Tallinn University of Technology auditorium II-102 (Ehitajate tee 5).

The Tallinn Manual is the result of a 3-year research project hosted by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, the goal of which was to assess how existing international law applies to cyber conflicts and cyber warfare.

Professor Schmitt is a renowned international law scholar who was among the first to publish works on the interplay of cyber operations and international law already in the late 1990s. He is a widely referenced expert and the author of several important approaches to the interpretation of international law in the cyber context. Professor Schmitt is the Chairman of the International Law Department at the United States Naval War College and served as the Director of the Tallinn Manual project 2009-2012.
